Four members of the Wadena-Deer Creek girls’ basketball team received Park Region All-Conference honors for the 2023-2024 season.  The Wolverines celebrated their 15-12 season with their awards night recently and recognized All-Conference players Addyson Gravelle (JR) and Montana Carsten (JR), along with Payton Gravelle (FR).  Kennedy Ness (SO) was an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection.

The Menahga girls’ basketball team lost their first game of the season, then won 24 straight.  On Friday night, they lost their final regular season game in overtime at Pelican Rapids, falling to the Vikings by the score of 50-47.  The win improves the Vikings record to 23-3.  Seeding results for Section 8AA will be announced on Sunday and the tournament begins on Thursday, February 29.  The Vikings will get a home game, but their opponent has yet to be determined.
