Recent Little Eight Conference News

The Little 8 Conference is proud to announce its Senior Showcase event, set to take place on Sunday, April 14th, at 4:30 PM at the Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Activities Center. The event will highlight the talents of senior athletes from various schools within the conference, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their basketball skills one last time before graduating.

The Little 8 Senior Showcase is free to the public and will feature an exciting lineup of activities, including a showcase game for senior boys at 4:30 PM and a three-point contest.


Hillcrest Girls Basketball Awards

The Hillcrest Comet girls basketball team celebrated their season and held their awards night on Tuesday, April 2nd. The team finished with a record of 21-7, the most wins in Comet girls basketball program history. They finished 3rd in the conference with a record of 14-4. 

Ella Knutson and Elsa Retlzaff were selected as 1st team all conference and Ruby Peterson was selected as 2nd team all conference.


Little Eight Conference Girls Basketball All-Conference Team

Four teams recorded double digit wins in Little Eight Conference Girls’ Basketball this season, led by Hancock at 17-1.  Underwood was second at 16-2, followed by Hillcrest at 14-4 and Brandon-Evansville at 12-6.  The Rockets went on to win the Section 6A championship and took fourth place in the Class A State Tournament.  Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark was honored as LEC Coach of the Year.  Liz Lukken of Underwood and Kaitlyn Rohloff of Hancock shared the MVP award.
