“We had four Border West Track & Field athletes compete,” said Border West Head Coach Brittany Erickson.  “Holden Rinke and Claire Rinke competed in the triple jump, Emily Kellen competed in the 400 meter dash, and Gracie Gallagher competed in both shot put and discus.  Holden Rinke broke the triple jump record again this season and Gracie Gallagher broke the shot put record.”

Holden Rinke placed fourth in the boys’ triple jump (43’ 7), while Claire Rinke was twelfth (31’ 11.25) in the girls’ event.  Gracie Gallagher had a third place (38’ 1) finish in the girls’ shot put and ended up sixteenth (85’ 1.75) in the shot put.  In the 400 meter dash, Emily Kellen took 4th place (1:02.28).

Two members of the Hillcrest Academy Track and Field team were invited to the Fargo Elite Meet.  This meet was open to all schools in North Dakota and Minnesota and the top 24 times or distances were invited to participate.  Matthew Knutson qualified in the Long Jump and Kaia Fiskness qualified in the 400

"Matthew was up first in cold windy conditions," reported Hillcrest Head Coach Allen Aase.  "He was rated 20th going in and finished 11th with a jump of (19’-8.75”) This is a great accomplishment coming from a small school and not having a long jump pit to practice on.  Kaia was next and was seeded 3rd going in and finished second with a time of 1:00.87 earning 8 points for the Comets and only .2 seconds out of 1st place."
