Welch added 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Tori Stephenson contributed 7 rebounds, Hazel Haugrud had 3 steals, Korf dished out 4 assists and Kelsey isaman finished with 9 points and 7 boards.

Leaders for Hillcrest were Alivia Holmquist (14 points, 5 rebounds), Ella Knutson (11 points, 5 rebounds), Madi Foss (8 points, 4 assists) and Ruby Peterson (7 points).  Madi Ballweg added 4 points and Regan Wiertzema pulled down 5 rebounds.

“The girls played hard until the final buzzer, but the Vikings were just too much for us tonight,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark.  “They are a disciplined, well-coached team and we just couldn’t get into any offensive rhythm.  Alivia Holmquist shot the ball well for us tonight and our guard trio of Madi Foss, Madi Ballweg and Ella Knutson did a great job defensively.  Our full court pressure is really starting to click, now we just need to fine tune some things in the half court.”

Pelican Rapids improved to 2-1 win the win.  They will host Park Rapids on Thursday and play at East Grand Forks on Saturday.

Hillcrest is now 1-2 and will play at Rothsay on Thursday.
