Hawley recorded a pair of softball wins over Breckenridge/Wahpeton on Thursday, winning 7-1 and 9-2.  Elle Hastings (7IP, 6H, 1ER, 1BB, 9K) was on her game in the opener, earning an impressive win in the circle.  Eagan Hastings (7IP, 6H, 2ER, 1BB, 7K) was just as effective in winning game two.

It was a memorable season for the 2021-22 Perham Yellowjackets girls basketball team and they capped it off with some postseason honors from the Heart O’ Lakes Conference. Perham head coach T.J. Super said the team exceeded people’s expectations but not their own. “We had a great summer of work and knew we had a great team coming in,” Super said. “We had many girls step up and fill in much needed roles. The cohesiveness that this team developed is what made this team great."

The Menahga Braves got things rolling early in their Section 8AA semifinal girls’ basketball contest against the Perham Yellowjackets.  They rode their strong start to a 70-49 victory over Perham, advancing to the Section championship game against Fergus Falls at 7:00pm Friday night at the Detroit Lakes High School gymnasium.  The winner of that game will qualify for the Class AA State Girls Basketball Tournament which begins on Wednesday, March 16.
