Hillcrest Track and Field Teams Compete in Pillager

The Hillcrest Comets Track and Field teams competed in the Houligan Extravaganza in Pillager on Thursday.  The boys’ finished sixth out of 10 teams and the girls’ were eighth out of ten teams.  The Comets head to Breckenridge on Thursday, April 18 to compete in the KT Smith Track and Field Invitational.

 

First place finishers for the Comets were Matthew Knutson in the long jump (20’ 8”), Kaia Fiskness in the 400 (1:00.65), Katie Holzner in the 1600 (5:45.52) and the 4x800 girls’ relay team of Holzner, Fiskness, Elsa Retzlaff and Emme Berge (10:28).

Gabe Swedenburg was runner-up in the 400 (54.00) and took third in the 100 (11.92).  Other 3rd place finishers were Maverick Peterson in the 800 (2:18.52), Knutson in the high jump (5’ 4”), the boys’ 4x400 relay team of Swedenburg, Knutson, Peterson and Drew Fischer, and the girls’ 4x400 relay team of Ruby Peterson, Fiskness, Berge and Retzlaff (4:24.42).

Berge claimed fourth place in the 400 (1:07.01) and Retzlaff was fifth in the 800 (2:45.36).
