Perham's Gracie Morris Wins Class A Girls Pole Vault, Yellowjackets Take 3rd as a Team

The Perham girls were on the medal stand in several events on Friday at the Class A State Track and Field Meet at St. Michael-Albertville High School.  Gracie Morris won gold in the pole vault (12-00.00) and Danial Van Watermulen finished fourth (10-06.00).  Jaden Hackel was runner-up in the triple jump (37-10.75), while Lauryn Rustad made four trips to the stand with a third place in the 100 hurdles (15.05), a ninth place in the 300 hurdles (47.73) and as a part of the sixth place 4x400 relay (4:07.02) and the seventh place 4x200 relay (1:46.00).  Hackel and Gracie Morris were also part of the 4x200 relay team, along with Mya MorrisCora Grismer and Mya Morris completed the 4x400 relay team.

Chloe Rabe of Ortonville took fifth place (38-10.25) in the shot put, Amber Collins of Wadena-Deer Creek was eighth in the 400 meter dash (59.81) and Jada Goeson was seventh in the 800 meter run (2:21.31).

Barnesville’s Lindsey Rotz claimed seventh place in the 1600 (5:15.30) and ninth in the 800 (2:23.47).  Jessa Kimman of Pillager was sixth in the 100 hurdles (15.49) and the Huskies took ninth place (52.17) in the 4x100 relay with Kimman, Grace Grimsley, Alivia Brown and Violette Metz.

Frazee had a fourth place (4:04.83) finish in the 4x400 meter relay with the team of Elsie Ratz, Jayden Sonnenberg, Brynn Larson and Hailey Selly.

Eden Valley-Watkins/Kimball won the girls’ team title with 70 points and Minnehaha Academy was second with 49.  Perham came in third with 46 points, followed by Luverne with 45 and GMLOKS with 43.
