The Perham boys’ track and field team had another strong showing at the Class A State Track and Field meet on Friday, earning medals in four events.  Bjorn Anderson, who won the 3200 meter run on Friday, was runner-up in the 1600 (4:19.91).  Micah Thompson was seventh in the 800 meter run (2:00.34).  In the 4x400 relay (3:27.82), the team of Aiden Kennedy, Blake Swenson, Micah Thompson and Bjorn Anderson ended up fourth, while the team of Swenson, Thompson, Dylan Guck and Isaac Paurus was seventh (8:06.88) in the 4x800 relay.

The Perham girls were on the medal stand in several events on Friday at the Class A State Track and Field Meet at St. Michael-Albertville High School.  Gracie Morris won gold in the pole vault (12-00.00) and Danial Van Watermulen finished fourth (10-06.00).  Jaden Hackel was runner-up in the triple jump (37-10.75), while Lauryn Rustad made four trips to the stand with a third place in the 100 hurdles (15.05), a ninth place in the 300 hurdles (47.73) and as a part of the sixth place 4x400 relay (4:07.02) and the seventh place 4x200 relay (1:46.00).  Hackel and Gracie Morris were also part of the 4x200 relay team, along with Mya MorrisCora Grismer and Mya Morris completed the 4x400 relay team.

Perham sophomore Bjorn Anderson won the gold medal in the 3200 meter run at the Class A Boys’ State Track and Field Meet on Thursday at St. Michael-Albertville.  Anderson’s time was 9:22.44.  He will compete in the 1600 meter run on Friday afternoon.  The Yellowjackets also advanced their 4x400 (3:26.73) and 4x200 (1:30.83) relay teams to the finals by placing top 9 in the prelims, but did not make it to finals in the 4x100 (44.43).  Micah Thompson qualified for finals in the 800 (1:57.44).
