The Hillcrest boys’ basketball team bounced back from their loss at Breckenridge Tuesday night, recording a 63-47 Little Eight Conference road win over Parkers Prairie on Friday night.

“I’m very happy for our boys tonight,” stated Hillcrest Head Coach Ryan Garvin.  “They put together a great game with a really good first half. Our defense, especially in the first half, was about as aggressively disciplined as I’ve seen us play this year.  I also thought our shot selection, again, especially in the first half, was as good as it has been all year.  Add to that that we valued possession tonight and that was encouraging.  I’m glad these young men got to see and experience what it feels like to put together this kind of game.”

Noah Brumfield finished with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists to lead the Comets.  Luke Christensen had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks. Justin Petersen ended the night with 9 points and 7 rebounds, and Gabe Swedenburg chipped in with7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals.

Parkers Prairie was led by Dylan Debilzen with 18 points, 15 of them coming in the second half.

Hillcrest (15-4, 10-2 LEC) will host Ortonville on Monday and travel to Rothsay for a LEC contest on Tuesday.

Parkers Prairie (7-10, 4-10 LEC) have road games at Henning on Thursday and at Rothsay on Friday.
