The Henning boys’ basketball team remained undefeated with a 74-63 home court win over Brandon-Evansville on Saturday.

“We finished off a strong week with a nice win at home over a very hard working Charger squad,” commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We led by as many as 26, but then got a bit sloppy and complacent in stretches. We also committed far too many fouls, putting B/E in the bonus for a good chunk of the second half. We did a nice job sharing the ball today.”

Henning was led by Mason Hammer (26 points, 5 rebounds), Kale Misegades (21 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds, 6 steals) and Tyson Misegades (17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals).

“Henning has a lot of talent and they play fast,” said B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We came out and played well for the first five minutes and then got careless with the basketball. We had way too many unforced turnovers throughout this game. I’m proud of how our guys never gave up and played hard for 36 minutes.”

Micah Fuller and Dezmond White led the Chargers with 20 and 19 points, respectively. Brady Perleberg chipped in with 8 points. Fuller also had 11 rebounds, completing a double-double.

Henning (9-0) plays at Verndale on Tuesday. Brandon-Evansville (2-4) meets Underwood on the Rockets home floor Tuesday night.
