Madi Ballweg scored a game high 21 points and Regan Wiertzema dominated the rebounding game with 18 boards as the Hillcrest girls’ basketball team recorded a 57-41 road win over Lake Park-Audubon on Thursday night.

“Tonight was a great team effort,” commented HLA Head Coach Hannah Clark.  “It was a physical game and the girls never let that seem to affect their game.  The girls moved the ball well on offense and did a nice job getting a variety of looks both inside and out.  Madi Ballweg played a really nice game tonight.  She played relaxed and confident and was able to get a lot of nice looks.  Regan was a beast on the boards tonight.  She, Ella Knutson and Madi Foss controlled the paint on the defensive end and made it difficult for LPA to get clean looks around the rim.”

Knutson (13 points, 6 rebounds) and Ruby Peterson (11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists) joined Ballweg in double digits.  Wiertzema added 5 points and 3 assists, Foss had 4 points, 7 assists and 3 steals, and Alivia Holmquist chipped in with 3 points.

LPA was led by Izzy Olson with 13 and Beth Schauer with 11.

Hillcrest (10-13) will play their final regular season game on Friday in Battle Lake.
