Mahnomen-Waubun put 92 points on the board Tuesday night as they hosted Hillcrest Lutheran Academy and posted a 92-69 win in a non-conference boys’ basketball contest.

“If the game would have been ten minutes, we would have done well tonight,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Ryan Garvin.  “Unfortunately, we didn’t close out the end of the first half well.  In the second half we just exchanged baskets and you’re not going to win too many basketball games, let alone against Mahnomen-Waubun, when you do that.  Mahnomen does it together so well and they did again tonight.”

Mahnomen-Waubun had six players in double figures with Loden Clark leading the way with 17 points and Rolondo Ellis with 15.

Sam Brumfield scored 28 points and dished out 5 assists to lead the Comets.  Zayne Weinrich and Noah Brumfield scored 11 and 10, respectively.  Yuchan Ha finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Hillcrest (10-3) had their eight game winning streak come to an end.  They will host Brandon-Evansville in a Little Eight Conference game on Friday night.
