The Brandon-Evansville boys’ basketball team suffered a 56-51 Little Eight Conference defeat to Parkers Prairie on Saturday. “We missed shots from everywhere,” said B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We struggled with looks that we like to get, so that’s unfortunate. Parkers played had and knocked down some big shots at key times in the game.”
Zayne Weinrich buried a 3-point field goal at the buzzer in overtime Friday night to lift the Hillcrest boys’ basketball team to a 63-60 win over the Rothsay Tigers. Rothsay led 35-23 at the half, but Hillcrest came storming back to tie the game 56-56.
Sam Brumfield established a new school record by scoring 45 points on Thursday night to lead the Hillcrest boys’ basketball team to a 62-39 win over Battle Lake. The 45 points was one more that Chris Tungseth’s previous mark of 44, set in 2016. Brumfield scored his 45 points on only 20 attempts from the field.”
