The Underwood girls’ basketball team shot 50% from the field on the way to a 55-26 Little Eight Conference victory over the Hillcrest lady Comets on Tuesday night on the Rockets home floor.

Mia Blaskowski came off the bench, scoring 12 points and adding 5 rebounds.  She made 5-of-6 shots in the first half, scoring 10 of her 12 points.

“Anytime someone comes off the bench and does that a coach is going to be happy,” said Head Coach Brian Hovland of Underwood.  “I thought we rebounded well and we did a much better job defensively and offensively in the second half.”

Liz Lukken led Underwood with 21 points and 6 rebounds.  Mo Bugbee added 12 points and dished out 3 assists.  Kallyn Grove (7 rebounds, 3 steals) and Ezrah Baker (4 assists, 6 rebounds, 3 steals) also contributed.

Madi Ballweg led the lady Comets with 10 points.  Ella Knutson had 7 points and 7 rebounds, Regan Wiertzema had 6 points and Madi Foss grabbed 7 boards.

“Offensively, I thought we had some good possessions where we moved the ball around and found the open player for a good shot, we just struggled to put the ball in the hoop,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark.  “Regan provided a great inside presence and our guards did a nice job getting her the ball.”

The Rockets (10-1) will host Hancock on Friday night.

Hillcrest (3-6) will host Battle Lake on Friday.
