The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross girls’ basketball team buried 66% of their field goal attempts on Friday night, while Hillcrest shot just 30% on the night as the Warriors defeated the Comets, 70-37.

“We played flat and lacked defensive intensity,” said Hillcrest Head coach Hannah Clark.  “We let Wheaton get too comfortable and they were able to knock down their shots.  Offensively, I thought we had some great possessions with good ball movement, we just couldn’t put the ball through the hoop.”

Ruby Peterson led the Comets in scoring with 10 points and Madi Foss added 8 points and 4 assists.  Regan Wiertzema had 5 points and 5 rebounds.

Hillcrest (3-5) has a busy week with Little Eight Conference games on Tuesday at Underwood and at home against Battle Lake on Friday.  They close out the week with a non-conference game at Park Christian High School in Moorhead on Saturday.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (5-1) has won five straight games.  They will host Hankinson on Tuesday and hit the road Thursday for a matchup with Richland-Colfax.
