Tori Pahl and Alexis Staples added 16 and 14 points, respectively, for Hancock.  Pahl completed a double-double by grabbing 10 rebounds and Rylee Hansen had 8 rebounds.  Staples dished out 7 assists for the Owls.  Hancock connected on 50% (30-60) of their shots in the game and made 17-of-23 from the line.

“Hancock has a solid team that is well coached and they play aggressive on both ends of the floor,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark. “Although the score didn't reflect it, I thought we got better tonight. Offensively, it took us a little while to get going, but once we got into rhythm everyone did a nice job looking to attack from various spots on the floor. I thought Regan Wiertzema and Madi Ballweg both did a nice job on the offensive end for us tonight. Mackenzie Foss had another great night shooting. She was able to knock down some 3's and she finished some tough shots around the rim.”

Foss scored a team high 19 points for Hillcrest.  Wiertzema (6 points, 4 rebounds), Madi Foss (6 points, 5 rebounds), Audra Ewan (6 points, 5 rebounds) and Ballweg (4 points, 5 rebounds) all made solid contributions for the Comets.  Hillcrest made just 32.7% (17-52) of their field goal attempts.

Hillcrest (2-6) will host Battle Lake in a Little Eight Conference matchup on Thursday night.

Hancock remained unbeaten, improving to 8-0.  They will travel to Barrett on Friday night for a showdown with the West Central Area Knights.
