The Wadena-Deer Creek girls' basketball team ended their season with an 18-12 record and a runner-up finish in Section 8AA.  Three members of the Wolverines were named to the All-Park Region Conference team, Madison Carsten, Addyson Gravelle and Payton Gravelle.  Montana Carsten was an honorable mention selection.

After a low scoring first half that saw Wadena-Deer Creek leading Thief River Falls 16-13 at the break, the Wolverines put 35 second half points on the board and the Prowler had 31 as WDC posted a 51-44 victory to advance to the Section 8AA championship game against top-seeded Perham on Friday night in Detroit Lakes.
