The Rothsay boys basketball team hosted Underwood in a Little Eight Conference matchup on Friday night.  Rothsay took a 27-12 lead in to the break and won by a 54-34 final.

“We came ready to play on both ends and rebounded the ball really throughout the game,” said Head Coach Taylor Fuhs of the Tigers.  “We had a lot of good contributions from a lot of guys.  We didn’t shoot the ball real well, but we were able to get stops throughout the game.”

Rothsay was led by Parker Keep with 16 points and 8 rebounds, and Colby Larson with 10 points and 4 assists.

Underwood was led by Daxton Olson with 10 points. Nick Seiple and Braden Thorson added 8 points each.

“Rothsay came out with more intensity and drive tonight and we came out too flat on the defensive side of the ball,” stated Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece. “We let them get too many open looks off the dribble and too many second chances. Offensively, we couldn’t get some open shots to fall early and in the second half we didn’t take care of the ball well enough. We need to come out of the locker room with more intensity tomorrow against Frazee.”

The game in Rothsay begins a stretch five games in eight days for the Rockets who will host Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday after facing Frazee on Saturday at the Fargo Civic Center.

The Tigers will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Monday night.
