In a Little Eight Conference match-up the Ashby Arrows Boys Basketball team defeated the Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Comets 60-51.  The Arrows led 28-22 at halftime.

Arrows senior forward Scott Johnson led all scorers with 29 points.  Jaden Norby was next with 15 points to go along with 10 rebounds for a second straight double-double.  The Arrows shot 46% (22/48) from the field and 83% (10/12) from the line.

Along with Scott and Jaden mentioned previously, everyone played a significant role in the victory.  Hunter Norby got some big offensive rebounds to extend possessions.  Noah Johnson dished out 4 assists.  Christian Norby played aggressively grabbing 7 rebounds despite being in foul trouble for much of the game, and Dakota Ecker committed just one turnover while being under constant defensive pressure.

“For the most part we had a well-played game in the Ashby gym,” reported Hillcrest Head Coach Gregg Preston. “Sander Frustol (16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) had another outstanding night shooting, rebounding, and delivering the ball. Midway through the second half we executed well and pulled within two points, but the Arrows made good decisions with the ball and converted on crucial possessions late in the game to secure the win. Scott Johnson was the difference maker in the game as he was able to score in so many different ways.”

Logan Disabella added 9 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists for the Comets, while Thomas Zwiers contributed 8 points and 5 rebounds. Micah Foss (7 points, 3 assists) and Gabriel Preston (6 points, 3 assists) also contributed.

Ashby improves their overall record to 12-3.  They take on the Ortonville Trojans in a Section 6A contest Friday night in Ashby.

Hillcrest (9-7) will host Parkers Prairie on Friday night in a Little Eight Conference contest.
