Hillcrest Lutheran Academy hit 49% (27-55) of their field goal attempts, including 42% (5-12) of their 3-point shots, as they recorded a 66-51 home court victory over Pelican Rapids on Tuesday night.

Sander Frustol had a dominant evening of basketball in every aspect of the game,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Gregg Preston. “He finished the game with 28 points, 20 rebounds, 3 assists, and several blocked shots. Thomas Zwierscomplimented Sander's play well with 15 points and 6 rebounds in the paint. All of our guys delivered the ball well into the post. Our offensive execution delivered the ball to our shooters much better than earlier in the season. Micah Foss and Gabriel Preston both hit big three-point baskets at crucial times in the second half and Nick Foss, as usual, defended well at the point. Jayden Rutherford and McHale Korf both shot the ball well this evening for the Vikings.”

Preston and Zwiers each had 5 assists and Logan Disabella added 3 assists.

Rutherford scored 16 points and Korf had 13 for Pelican Rapids.

"We did a nice job early in the game of moving the basketball offensively and working for good shots, which is always a key against the Comets good defense," Pelican rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud stated. "Once we stopped doing that, we had trouble scoring and they were able to take a ten point lead. We were able to close the gap to four points midway through the second half, but they responded with a couple of big shots and we were unable to tighten the game back up again. Frustol was great for them tonight as we had no answer for him defensively."
