The Hillcrest boys basketball team traveled to Moorhead where they faced the Park Christian Falcons on Saturday afternoon. The Comets returned home with a 55-33 victory, improving their record to 3-2.

After trailing 11-5 midway through the first half, excellent defensive pressure sparked the Comets 21-6 run to end the half, sending them into the locker room with a lead of 26-17.

Sander Frustol led the Comets, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Gabriel Preston added 12 points and Thomas Zwiers had ten points and 9 rebounds. Nick Foss and Micah Foss contributed 7 points each. Micah led the team with 4 assists, while Nick joined Zwiers and Frustol with 3 steals.

Hillcrest shot 40% (23-58) from the field, but made only 7-of-24 (29%) 3-point attempts.

"This was a really great effort by every Comet tonight," said Hillcrest Head Coach Gregg Preston.  "Our guys had another excellent defensive night by applying very good pressure on the perimeter and Thomas Zwiers and Sander Frustol made it difficult for the Falcons to get easy looks in the paint."

Tanner Brunsberg led Park Christian with 22 points.

The Comets will play the West Central Area Knights as part of a girl/boy double header on Tuesday night in Barrett.
