Fergus Falls junior Jaden Miller finished second with a personal best time of 1:56.00 in the Class AA 800 meter run finals on Saturday at St. Michael-Albertville High School. Shane Zierden, who was runner-up in the triple jump on Friday, ended up fifth in the long jump (21-06.50). The Otter girls’ 4x800 meter relay team (9:52.13) did not place.
Perham junior Bjorn Anderson claimed second place in the 1600 meter run (4:14.37). Jaden Hackel was fourth (36-07.75) in the AA girls’ triple jump and Gracie Morris of the Yellowjackets took fifth place in the pole vault (11-00). The 4x800 Perham relay team wound up in ninth place with a time of 9:44.17. Avalee Brown, Cora Grismer, Aspen Rohde and Caidyn Breid were on that team.
Saturday was an outstanding day for the Alexandria Track and Field athletes. The lady Cards won the AA team title with 79 points. Monticello took second with 68.5. The Alexandria boys’ finished fourth in the team competition with 42 points. Fridley won the title with 59 points.
