The Ashby softball team swept Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in a Friday double header. The Arrows won 14-0 in the first game and took the second game, 22-2. “Everyone contributed to the two wins and really showed their teamwork and our bench depth,” said Ashby Head Coach Chalsey Barry. “The team is a mix of first time varsity players and many veterans all contributing and constantly improving.”
Junior Kaitlyn Finkelson had a solid first game, pitching 5 innings of shutout ball. She also drove in 6 runs with 2 doubles and a triple. Senior Brookelinn Finkelson had 5 hits and 3 RBI in the double header. Sophomore Chloe Finkelson pitched the second game and also at 2 RBI. Sophomore Ayden Behrens had 3 singles and 4 RBI. Senior Quynn Behrens shower her offensive strength with 2 singles, a double and 6 runs batted in.
