Warriors Dominate Comets in Double Header Sweep

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross swept a softball double header from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Monday, winning 33-0 and 27-0.  The Warriors had 18 hits in the first game and drew 17 walks.  In the second game Bertram and Perry combined on a no-hitter with Perry recording 5 strikeouts in her two innings of work. 

 

Leading the Warriors at the plate in the opener were Hadley Berger (4-5, 2B, 4R, 6RBI, BB, 2SB), Jordyn Perry (3-6, 3RBI, 3R), Sadie Vipond (2-3, 2RBI, 4R, BB, SB), Emily Drewicke (2-2, 2RBI, 2R, SB), Jadyn Kellen (2-3, 2B, 2RBI, 3R, 2BB, 2SB), Makayla Bertram (1-1, 2RBI, 4R, 4BB, SB), Grace Dawson (5BB, 4R, RBI), Kylee Gail (1-1, 3RBI, R, BB), Addison Blume (2-3, 3B, 2RBI, R) and London Rinke (1-1, 3RBI, 3R, BB).

The Warriors banged out 23 hits in the second game.  They were led by Blume (4-5, HR, 6RBI, 4R), Drewicke (5-5, 2B, 3RBI, 3R), Perry (3-4, 2 2B, SB, 3RBI, 4R, BB), Vipond (3-4, 4RBI, 5R, BB) and Nora Peyton (3-4, 3RBI, 2R).

“We had a strong showing from first year player and pitcher Maddie Miller and outfielder McKinlee Ballweg in game one,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Shawnesy McBride. “In the second game we received excellent itching from Meredith Muniz-goad and 7th grader Natalie Schultz.  First year player Elizabeth Gjerde gave us excellent defense at second base.”
