The Hillcrest Academy Track and Field teams participated in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference Indoor Meet at Concordia College in Moorhead on Tuesday. The Hillcrest boys’ finished 7th out of 8 teams and girls’ were 6th out of 8 teams. “It was a great way to start our season,” noted Head Coach Alan Aase.
The Comets won two events with Kaia Fiskness winning the 400 meter dash (1:05.8) and the 4x800 relay team (10:50.92) of Fiskness, Elsa Retzlaff, Ruby Peterson and Emme Berge also took first place.
Third place finishers were Ruby Peterson in the 400 (1:11.17) and Elsa Retzlaff in the 800 (2:48.0).
Personal record times were turned in by Xander Brown in the 55 meter dash (8.22) and the 200 meter dash (29.77); Isaac Hamilton in the 200 (27.66) and 400 (1:04.58); Xander Knutson in the shot put (29’4.25”); and Maverick Peterson in the 800 (2:21.81).
The Comets next meet will be on Thursday, April 4 at Fergus Falls.
