The Menahga girls’ basketball team lost their first game of the season, then won 24 straight. On Friday night, they lost their final regular season game in overtime at Pelican Rapids, falling to the Vikings by the score of 50-47. The win improves the Vikings record to 23-3. Seeding results for Section 8AA will be announced on Sunday and the tournament begins on Thursday, February 29. The Vikings will get a home game, but their opponent has yet to be determined.
Morgan Korf led the Vikings on Friday night with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals. Ari Hovland had 11 points and 5 rebounds, and Ellie Welch led the team with 12 boards. Anna Roisum, Claudia Gurath and Grace Backstrom had 5 rebounds each.
No Menahga stats were reported. The Braves end up 24-2 overall and completed a perfect 14-0 Park Region Conference slate.
