Otter Boys Place 6 in Double Figures to Beat Storm 90-75

Hayden Knick buried six 3’s on his way to a team high 19 points on Tuesday night, leading the Fergus Falls boys’ basketball team to a 90-75 Central Lakes Conference win at Sauk Rapids-Rice.  Knick led six Otters in double figures.  Ryan Hirst had 15, Luke Pearson 14 (4 3’s), Alex Ellison 13, Henry Bethel 12 and Micah Johnson 10.

 

The Otters made 16-of-32 two-point field goals for 50%, and connected on 12-of-22 from 3-point range for 54.5%.  Overall, the Otters shot 52% (28-54) from the field.

Rebound leaders were Hirst with 8, Pearson with 6 and Levi King with 5.  Johnson and Bethel led in assists, with 5 and 4, respectively.

Leading 17-16, Fergus Falls went on a 12 point run to open up a 29-16 lead.  They increased their first half lead to 17 and led by 16, 51-35 at halftime.  They maintained that lead throughout most of the second half as they improved their season record to 11-11 and the CLC mark to 7-6.

Spencer Swenson led the Storm with 20 points.  Keller Hanson added 18, Austin Kunz had 13 and Izayah Cook finished with 11.

Fergus Falls will host Alexandria on Thursday night on their Cancer Awareness Night.  Proceeds will go to benefit the Lake Region Hospital Cancer Care and Research Center.
