It was a playoff type atmosphere in Frazee on Tuesday night as the Hornets held on for a 53-52 win over Wadena-Deer Creek in a non-conference girls’ basketball contest.  Jayden Sonnenberg led the Hornets with 22 points and Brynn Larson added 11.  WDC was led by Addy Gravelle with 17, Jada Dykhoff with 10 and Montana Carsten with 9.

“Playoff type atmosphere tonight in Frazee,” acknowledged Head Coach Jordan Cresap of the Wolverines. “Thought we battled tough all throughout, just couldn’t secure some key defensive rebounds late in the game. Our kids brought the intensity and played hard, just fell short, they should be proud of their effort. On to section 8AA playoffs next Thursday!”

Frazee (12-11, 2-10 HOL) will end their regular season schedule with a home game on Friday against New York Mills.

Wadena-Deer Creek finishes the regular season with a record of 15-11 and a Park Region Conference mark of 11-3.
