Wadena-Deer Creek took a 58-36 victory from the Henning Hornets in a rare Friday afternoon high school girls’ contest.  “Great environment for our day game with Henning,” said Wolverines Head Coach Jordan Cresap.  “WDC students brought the energy and made it an electric atmosphere.  Shout out to everyone who helped make this even great!”

Addy Gravelle made six 3’s on the way to a 22 point performance and Montana Carsten added 10 points and Payton Gravelle chipped in with 9.

“Combination of nerves and excitement led to a slow start as there seemed to be a lid on the basket,” reported Coach Cresap. “We found our groove offensively in the second half with some good ball movement and kept battling defensively to pull it out.”

Leaders for Henning were Lyvia Misegades with 19 and Alivia Gunderson with 11.

Henning (7-10) will host Walker-Hackensack-Akeley in a 1:15 contest on Saturday afternoon.

Wadena-Deer Creek (12-8) recorded their fourth straight win.  They will play at 2:00pm Saturday in Crookston.
