“The girls came out right from the tip and played hard with a lot of intensity,” stated Head Coach Hannah Clark of Hillcrest. “Our defensive pressure set the tone for the night and I was pleased with the way the girls were able to carry that intensity throughout the entire game. Offensively, we did a nice job of attacking the hoop and keeping pressure on CGB’s defense. We had the size advantage down low and I thought we did a good job of taking advantage of mismatches throughout the game.”
Clark continued, “Elsa shot the ball well and she had some really nice finishes around the rim. Ruby Peterson had another great all around night for us with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals. Ella Knutson registered another double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.”
Emma Berge (6 points, 2 rebounds), Aaveah Stender (6 points, 4 rebounds) and Kate Olstad (2 points, 7 rebounds) also contributed to the win.
Hillcrest (13-5, 10-3 LEC) will play Wyndmere-Lidgerwood at 12:30pm Saturday at NDSCS.
CGB has a home game Tuesday against Ashby and a road game Thursday at Parkers Prairie.
