Wadena-Deer Creek hosted a Park Region Conference girls’ basketball contest against Bertha-Hewitt on Tuesday night and the Wolverines defense held the Bears to 34 points in a 47-34 victory. “Grind it out win tonight,” said WDC Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “We knew rebounding was going to be key in this one, and I thought our effort on the boards was outstanding. We need to clean up careless turnovers in order to keep ascending as a team. Lola Pulver was another nice spark for us tonight.”
Payton Gravelle scored 10 points to lead the Wolverines. Pulver contributed 9 and two players, Montana Carsten and Jada Dykhoff scored 8 points each.
Rochelle Dean led the Bears with 12 points.
