Wadena-Deer Creek recorded a Park Region Conference girls’ basketball win on Friday night, defeating Verndale, 50-38.  “Good grind it out win against Verndale tonight,” said WDC Head Coach Jordan Cresap. Sluggish start, but senior Lola Pulver stepped up big time, scoring 14 of her 18 in the first half. Payton Gravelle was our second half burst, knocking down some outside shots. Defensively we competed tough down the stretch to hold the lead and pull it out.”

Payton Gravelle had 17 points, with 13 coming in the second half, including a trio of 3’s.  Montana Carsten finished with 10 points.

Reagen Ludovissie led Verndale with 18 points.

Verndale (12-4) will host Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Tuesday night.

Wadena-Deer Creek (8-6) has a non-conference home game against East Grand Forks on Saturday.
