The Wadena-Deer Creek girls’ basketball team hosted New York Mills on Friday night.  The Wolverines led 29-15 at the half and ended up winning by the score of 51-34.  “Solid effort tonight against a physical New York Mills team,” said Head Coach Jordan Cresap of the Wolverines. “We knew we needed to rebound well tonight and I thought we did that. We got sloppy with the ball in the second half and need to improve our decision making against zones. Addy Gravelle was a big time spark tonight with seven threes!”

Gravelle led all scorers with 27 points.  As a team, the Wolverines made 10 3’s in the game.  Ashley Pavek scored 9 points.

Ayla Olson led New York Mills with 15 points, 10 of them coming in the second half.

The Eagles (1-4) will host Menahga on Thursday, December 14.
