Ella Knutson recorded a triple-double as she poured in 31 points, secured 15 rebounds, came up with 10 steals and dished out 3 assists on Thursday night leading the Hillcrest Comets to a 62-57 win over Brandon-Evansville.  Knutson scored 26 of her 31 in the first half.  She was also a key player in a 19-0 run by the Comets when they were trailing by 11 points midway through the first half.

Elsa Retzlaff joined Knutson in double figures, scoring 13 points.  She also had 4 rebounds.  Kate Olstad finished with 13 rebounds and 8 points, while Ruby Peterson added 9 rebounds and 7 steals.  Emme Berge chipped in with 5 points and 4 steals.

"This was a really good win for us against a good Brandon Evansville team," noted Head Coach Hannah Clark of the Comets. "Our full court pressure really disrupted their offense and it fueled our whole team.  Ella Knutson was unstoppable in the first half scoring 26 of her 31-she finished with a triple double. Once she got hot the rest of the team gained a lot of confidence and really fed off of her success. Everyone really stepped up for us tonight. Emme Berge and Brooke Swedberg hit some huge shots for us down the stretch. Ruby, Ella, and Kate rebounded well for us. It was nice to see Elsa aggressively looking for her shot. We looked much more like ourselves tonight."

Drea Fernholz led the Chargers with 16 points, including 4 3-pointers.  She also had a team high 11 rebounds.  Haddy Baune contributed 11 points and had 3 assists.  Mia Elmer finished with 9 rebounds, Ava Santjer had 8 rebounds and 5 assists, and Taylor Dingwall scored 8 points while grabbing 6 rebounds.

Hillcrest (1-2) will play at Ashby on Tuesday in a Little Eight Conference contest.

Brandon-Evansville (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season.
