“We ran into a tough Hancock team tonight,” stated Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark. “Our inexperience was a big factor in this game and we let Hancock dictate on both ends of the floor. Our girls continue to play hard and we look forward to getting better every day.”
The Comets were led by Elsa Retzlaff with 10 points. Ella Knutson added 6 points and 7 rebounds, Aaveah Stender finished with 5 points and 5 boards, and Ruby Peterson had a solid floor game with 4 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Kate Olstad and Emme Berge contributed 5 and 4 points, respectively.
Hancock (3-0) will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday, while Hillcrest (0-2) has a Thursday home game with Brandon-Evansville.
