Losing graduating seniors Josh Sternberg, Grant Ackerson, Jaydon Manteufel and Erik Hansen has created some holes, however, their absence also creates some opportunities for others. Senior Hayden Knick, juniors Henry Bethel, Ryan Hirst, Alex Ellison and Levi King, and sophomore Micah Johnson are returning letter winners who will form the nucleus of the 2023-2024 team.
Seniors Zach Hanson and Dom Beving, juniors Jack Ratz, Luke Pearson, Isaac Ellison and Darius Lockett, and sophomore Isaiah Holmes are all expected to provide varsity minutes.
“We are excited about the potential of this group,” said Head Coach Matt Johnson, now in his eighth season. “We are still relatively young, but gained some valuable experience last year. It is an athletic group who likes to compete and will be fun to watch!”
Assisting Johnson are Brad Strand, Ryan Johnson, Taylor Fuhs and Keith Pearson.
Coach Johnson sees Alexandria and St. Cloud Tech as the top teams in the Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA.
