The Hillcrest boys’ basketball team recorded a 20 win season a year ago and featured a 12-4 record in the expanded Little Eight Conference.  Noah Brumfield (SR, Wing) broke the single game scoring record and reached the 1000 career point mark.  He is one of five returning letter winners for the Comets, including fellow senior Luke Christensen (Post), junior Preston Berge (Post), and sophomores Sean Berge (Guard) and Ethan Swedberg (Wing).

“We have a lot of returning players with varsity experience having lost only two seniors (Justin Peterson and Erik Bjorndahl),” said Hillcrest Head Coach Ryan Garvin.  “We expect to be a deep team with many players being able to contribute and have size and length to frustrate teams in the paint, both on the offensive and defensive end.  We had a great summer, playing a lot of games that gave us a lot of experience playing together and helping to build chemistry.”

Junior Vincent Nash (Wing) and sophomore Lincoln Nash (Guard) are expected to provide varsity minutes also.

Garvin is assisted by Donavan Rogness, Andrew Stender and Sam Nash.  He says Battle Lake, Border West and Hancock are the top teams in the Little Eight Conference, with BBE, KMS, Ada-Borup and West Central added to the list in Section 6A.
