Wadena-Deer Creek lost seniors Madison Carsten and Ally Pavek to graduation from their 18-12 team that made a run all the way to the Section 8AA finals last winter.  Replacing those senior leaders will not be easy, however, the Wolverines have a solid nucleus of returning players to build around.  Head Coach Jordan Cresap is in his fifth year.  He will be assisted by Wendy Gravelle (JV) and Jordan Anderson (C Squad).

“We expect to be competitive this season, but we have to replace two great senior leaders,” stated Coach Cresap.  “We return three key players in Addyson Gravelle (JR, Guard), Montana Carsten (JR, Guard) and Payton Gravelle (FR, Forward).  We have a good group of sophomores and juniors that will contend for roles that are up for grabs.  We will need to rebound and defend at a high level at every position for consistent success.  We have a good group of kids that play well together and are up for any challenge.”

Senior Lola Pulver (Forward) should also be in the varsity mix.

Cresap sees Perham, Pelican Rapids, Menahga, Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks as challengers in Section 8AA, while Menahga is his pick in the Park Region Conference.
