With the loss of 8 seniors to graduation, veteran head coach Mike Hepola, now in his 25th season, will be looking to fill some holes in the lineup for the Henning girls’ basketball team.  Henning had a tremendous season with a perfect 14-0 Park Region conference record and an overall mark of 26-3.  They were sub-section runners-up and had two players, Faith Fisher and Lyvia Misegades join the career 1000 point club.  Misegades (SR, G/F) is the only returning starter for the Hornets.  Alivia Gunderson (SR, G) is a returning letter winner.

Replacing graduates Fisher, Ally Hart, Natalie Eckhoff (playing at Central Lakes CC in Brainerd), Lily Fraki, Ava Eckhoff, Aaliyah Olson, Gretchen Eckhoff and Becca Frederick will be a tall order.  Newcomers Ella Missling (SR, G/F), Lillian Conner (SR, G), Lila Thorson (JR, G), Tiffany Weber (JR, F), Monica Hansen (SO, G/F), Isabelle Godding (SO, F) and Callie Thompson (FR, G/F) will be looking to step in and make an impact at the varsity level.

“Obviously we graduated a great group of 8 seniors last year and they had a heck of a run the past few seasons,” said Coach Hepola.  “We’ll do our best to continue to compete at a high level as we have a nice group of seniors that we want to send off with a successful season.  We will also rely on some younger players to help us make that happen.”

Chris Dague, Ryan Emter and Matt Thorson will assist Coach Hepola.

Hepola points to Underwood and Hancock as the top teams in Section 6A.
