The Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Boys Soccer Team celebrated a great season with their awards ceremony this past Sunday. The Comets finished their 2023 season with a record of 11-7-1, were runners-up in Section 8A, and ended up in second place in the Lakes to Prairie Conference.
Team Leadership Awards were presented to Noah Bjorndahl, Matthew Knutson and Abram Ness. The Hustle Award went to Drew Fischer and Lincoln Nash was selected as Most Improved Player.
Zane Holmquist, Fischer, Knutson, Franki Renner and Ness were All-Conference selections, while Soren Floden and Kian Stender were Honorable Mention All-Conference choices.
Ness was also chosen to the All-State Team. Ness finishes his varsity career with the team record for both goals (53) and assists (32), moving ahead of past Hillcrest greats including Chris Pellegrino, Kevin Franco, Jorgan Grieve (HLA HOF) and Joar “Scottie” Haavick.
