Prowlers Shut Down Otters in 28-6 Win

Fergus Falls took the long trip to Thief River Falls on Friday night where the home town Prowlers defeated the visiting Otters by the score of 28-6.  The Prowlers ran for 305 yards and had 388 yards of total offense.  Their defense shut down the Otters in the second half of the game, allowing only 25 yards and no first downs over the final two quarters.

 

Thief River scored a 5 yard run by Jackson Boyer in the first quarter for a 6-0 lead.

Fergus Falls tied the game with 4:25 left in the 2nd quarter, completing a 57 yard drive with a 20 yard TD run by quarterback Henry Bethel.  With 2:38 remaining in the half, the Prowlers regained the lead on a 12 yard run by Boyer and a successful two-point conversion, allowing them to take a 14-6 lead.

With 4:20 left in the third quarter, Griffin Lundeen scored on a 20 yard run and Brayden Spears added the PAT kick, giving the Prowlers a 21-6 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Caleb Roesendal hit Cooper Anderson with a 32-yard TD pass and Spears kicked the extra point for a 28-6 lead.

The Otters had 204 yards of offense, led by Griffin Babolian with 138 rushing yards on 20 attempts.  Bethel ran for 19 yards on 4 carries and completed 5-olf-21 passes for 37 yards.  He also had a pair of interceptions.

Fergus Falls (2-5) will now face Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta on Wednesday night.
