The Hillcrest Comets suffered a 3-1 (25-22, 25-14, 21-25, 25-21) loss to Little Eight Conference foe, Parkers Prairie on Thursday night at the Student Activities Center on the campus of Hillcrest Lutheran Academy.

“It was a tough loss tonight against Parkers Prairie,” stated Hillcrest Head Coach Debi Foss. “They dominated at the net, swung hard, and it took a while for us to get a touch on the ball.  At many points in the game, we struggled to keep our serve-receive passing in system which ultimately affected running our offense. During the third and fourth sets, we started to get some rhythm. Anna Brumfield led in that effort and did a good job of getting our offense going in the 3rd and 4th sets leading tonight with 11 kills. Emily Adams was also key in getting our blocking game going. She has the experience and is leading her peers well. The girls will continue their Homecoming week celebration with some time off and then we’ll be back in the gym on Monday. Tonight we also celebrated Hillcrest Volleyball Alumni.  Always fun to see some familiar faces from the past.”

In addition to her 11 kills, Brumfield was a perfect 11-for-11 on the serving line and recorded 12 digs.  Adams had 4 kills, 4 block kills and 4 digs.  Ella Knutson (2 aces, 6 kills, 9 digs, 2 block kills), Ruby Peterson (24 set assists, 3 kills, 13 digs), Kenzie Miller (2 aces, 3 kills, 4 digs, 4 block kills) and Elsa Retzlaff (2 aces, 3 kills, 7 digs) also contributed.  Chloe Walkup and Maddie Miller added 5 and 4 digs, respectively.

The next matchup for Hillcrest will be a home game with Lake Park-Audubon on Tuesday.
