“We ran a modified course due to the large amount of rain the course saw in a very short amount of time this past Saturday,” commented Head Coach Niki Welde of the Otters.  “It was a big change in the way it looked, but we had amazing support from all over the community to help us pull this off.  We thank Pebble Lake Golf Course for allowing us to use the course and providing support as we worked to set it all up.  The Otter Risers Kiwanis provided wonderful volunteers to assist in making the races run smoothly.  It was a beautiful day on a beautiful course.”

"The BW Storm Cross Country team took on good competition on hilly course in windy conditions at Fergus Falls on Thursday afternoon," noted Breckenridge-Wahpeton Head Coach Larry Lasch.  "Despite only five teams at the meet, the competition was very good.  The Alexandria girls are one of the top teams in Section 8AA and in the state rankings.  The course was laid out in with many hills and the wind made running challenging, but the BW Storm stepped up their game.  Earlier this season, the Fergus Fall girls beat the Storm ladies, but behind good running from Lucie Comstock,  Kiera Wiertzema, Gracie Falck, Jasmyn Benedict, and Addie King who placed 4th, 8th, 13th, 15th, and 19th, respectively, the girls defeated the Otters to place 2nd behind Alexandria.   Our girls are gaining mental toughness, they accepted less than ideal conditions and raced against the competition without excuses.  They ran much more aggressively in the first mile, setting themselves up for success."
