The Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Boys Soccer Team defeated the East Grand Forks Green Wave Thursday at home by the score of 3-0. The Comets launched 15 shots on the PRHS Green Wave net. Freshman Comet Keeper, Franki Renner was perfect in goal stopping four shots on goal…achieving his third shutout for the Comets.
After a scoreless first half, Senior Captain Matthew Knutson took control of a ball at midfield. He pushed the ball forward to Senior Captain, Abram Ness who beat the Green Wave defense and scored. Six minutes later, Ness took a free kick headed by Matthew Knutson into the box. Zane Holmquist collected the ball and did a scissor kick blast to the back of the Green Wave net. At 65 minutes Zane Holmquist scored again off an assist from Otavio Roseira, ending all scoring with the Comets up 3-0.
The Comets, now 7-5-1, take on Pelican Rapids on Saturday at 2PM at Danielson Field.
