The Fergus Falls Otters fell behind 14-0 at East Grand Forks on Friday night, rallied to tie the game, and then lost, 17-14, on a 21-yard overtime field goal by Drew Carpenter of the Green Wave.  The Otters were held to only 8 offensive plays in the first half and just 28 offensive plays overall.  EGF held them to just 105 yards of offense, 64 on the ground and 41 through the air.

East Grand Forks scored first when Jordan Nowacke broke loose for a 33 yard TD run in the first quarter.  Carpenter added the extra point kick for a 7-0 lead for the home team.

In the third quarter, Carpenter capped a 77-yard drive with an 11 yard touchdown run and another successful PAT kick for a 14-0 lead over the Otters.  Fergus Falls scored on a 13 yard run by Isaiah Holmes and a Shane Zierden extra point kick to cut the lead to 14-7.

A 5-yard run by Henry Bethel and another PAT kick from Zierden pulled the Otters even with East Grand Forks at 14-14.

In the overtime period, Fergus Falls won the toss and took the ball.  The Otters had to settle for an attempted 29 yard field goal, however, Zierden was unable to put it through the uprights, leaving the game tied.

On their possession, starting at the ten yard line, East Grand Forks ran for 5 yards, lost yards on second down, ran the ball to the 4 on 3rd down and then attempted a 21-yard field goal by Carpenter, which was good.

Clyde Anderson ran for 97 yards on 26 carries to lead the Green Wave and Nowacke had 80 yards on 14 attempts.  Carpenter ran for 64 yards on 8 carries.  EGF had 263 total yards with 253 coming via the running game.

Fergus Falls was led on the ground by Bethel (9 carries, 37 yards) and Griffin Babolian (9 carries, 27 yards).  King caught two passes for 41 yards and Bethel was 3-for-10 throwing the football.

Fergus Falls (1-3) will host Perham in their homecoming battle on Friday, September 29th.
