The Park Christian Falcons made the trek down I-94 from Moorhead to Fergus Falls for a high school volleyball match against the Comets at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy. The match was quite a battle as the visitors were able to win in four sets, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 27-25.
“This was tough match,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Debi Foss. “Most of the match was point-for-point. Both teams had a ton of attacks and a ton of digs. On paper we had more kills, but had more unforced errors, and in a tight match like tonight, that was all the difference. We had some really good moments and I know the girls have the ability to figure out the volleyball rollercoaster.”
Leaders for the Comets were Ella Knutson (11 kills, 15 digs, 1 block kill, 1 ace), Kenzie Miller (8 kills, 3 digs, 2 block kills), Emily Adams (3 aces, 11 kills, 2 block, kills), Elsa Retzlaff (2 aces, 4 kills, 17 digs, 1 block kill), Anna Brumfield (3 aces, 8 kills, 20 digs), Ruby Peterson (38 set assists, 5 kills, 29 digs), Chloe Walkup (4 digs) and Maddie Miller (3 digs).
The Comets next match in Thursday in Wheaton against the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors.
