At halftime, Hillcrest came out strong and responded with a goal by junior midfielder Katie Holzner, assisted by junior forward Ava Lindgren. Pelican Rapids immediately responded with a goal one minute later, adding two more over the span of the next 15 minutes. Hillcrest was able to manage another goal, this time by Ava Lindgren, assisted by Katie Holzner, with six minutes remaining in the second half, but were unable to find the net in the final minutes despite a number of attempts.
