The Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Boys Soccer Team Tied the Minnewaska Area Lakers on Tuesday, 1-1 at home.  The Comets (0-2) will resume play with a road game against St. John’s Prep on Thursday and will then host Central Minnesota Christian on Friday.

The Lakers scored first at eight minutes into the second half on a Free Kick from the right side of the field.  The ball placed into the small box was not cleared by the Comets and found its way to the back of the Comet net.  Senior Captain, Abram Ness, attacked up the center of the field, ten minutes later, beating several Laker defenders.  Abram was taken down 24 yards out from the goal line and awarded a free kick which he converted into a goal, tying the score, and ending all scoring for the game.

The Comets launched six shots on the Laker Goal.  Comet Freshman Keeper, Frankie Renner, stopped five shots on goal.  “Senior Sweeper Maxwell Anderson had a tremendous game thwarting several Laker attacks and leading/directing His Comet defense, Noah Bjorndahl, Kian Stender, Caleb Holm, and EJ Cho,” said Head Coach Rod Jensen.

The Comets now 0-1-1 travel to St. Johns Prep for a match on Thursday.

In JV action,  The Comets won by the score of 2-0 with Miles Selvig (assist Nico Mahori) and David Diniz scoring for the Comets.  JV goaltenders Jimmy McGinnis and Aiden Kim both contributed to the JV shut out.
