Area golfers Erik Bjorndahl of Hillcrest and Dawson Wienbar of Breckenridge are in the top 25 after the first day of competition at the Class A Boys State Tournament, being held at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker. Bjorndahl is tied for 21st after recording a score of 80 and Wienbar is tied for 24th after his round of 81. New Life Academy senior Cole Witherow is the leader with a 70, giving him a two stroke lead. Nolan Wilson of Border West came in with an 84.
Lakeview is the team leader with a 322 and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley is second with a 324. Fillmore Central (331) and Fertile-Beltrami (332) are third and fourth, respectively. Ottertail Central had a team score of 355 and is eighth.
OTC seniors Carter Dilly and Nathan Hillman led the Bulldogs with scores of 82 and 85, respectively. Senior Owen Buehler sot a 93 and sophomore Logan Kostelecky a 95.
