Perham's Anderson Wins Class A 3200 Headlining Day One Results at Boys State Track Meet

Perham sophomore Bjorn Anderson won the gold medal in the 3200 meter run at the Class A Boys’ State Track and Field Meet on Thursday at St. Michael-Albertville.  Anderson’s time was 9:22.44.  He will compete in the 1600 meter run on Friday afternoon.  The Yellowjackets also advanced their 4x400 (3:26.73) and 4x200 (1:30.83) relay teams to the finals by placing top 9 in the prelims, but did not make it to finals in the 4x100 (44.43).  Micah Thompson qualified for finals in the 800 (1:57.44).

Brady Rach of Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale finished fourth (9:37.91) in the 3200.

In the Class A Pole Vault finals, Joe Wilson of DGF took fourth place (13-03.00) and Brady Crabtree of Frazee wound up fifth (13-00.00).

In the Triple Jump finals, Bradley Olson of Untied Clay Becker ended up ninth (41-08.25).

Braeden Bredman of Barnesville advanced to the finals in the 200 meter dash (6th – 22.57) and the 400 meter dash (8th – 51.14).

Pelican Rapids competitors Treyvon Benson (pole vault – 11-00.00) and Justin Jacobson (shot put – 47-11.00) did not place in their events and Anthony Checco de Souza (300 hurdles – 42.49) did not qualify for finals in his race.  The Vikings also failed to qualify for finals in the 4x400 relay (3:34.47) and 4x200 relay (1:32.79).  Charlie Larson did move on with the eighth fastest prelim time in the 800 meter run (1:58.06).

DGF did not qualify for finals in the 4x200 relay (1:32.88) and United Clay Becker did not advance in the 4x400 relay (3:32.18).  Taylor Johnson of UCB did not place in the 3200 (10:00.24).
